Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
1. Introduction
Ragnarok ReClassic ("ReClassic", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website reclassic.com.br and a private game server based on the rAthena emulator for the classic (pre-renewal) version of Ragnarok Online. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the measures we take to protect it.
By creating an account, accessing the website, or playing on the server, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account data: username, email address, and password (stored as a hash).
- In-game data: character names, levels, classes, items, guilds, party affiliations, in-game messages, and other gameplay activity that is necessarily generated while playing.
- Support content: messages, screenshots, and details you submit through our support tickets.
- Player-generated content: guides, build descriptions, comments, and similar content you choose to publish on the website.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Connection data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Usage data: pages visited, features accessed, timestamps, and referring URLs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies (to keep you logged in), and analytics/advertising tags.
2.3 Payment information
When you purchase virtual currency ("cash points") or other digital goods, payment is processed by third-party providers (Stripe and Mercado Pago). We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials. We retain only a transaction identifier, the amount, the product purchased, and the status returned by the payment processor, which we use to credit the corresponding cash points to your account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Create and maintain your account and characters.
- Operate the game server, including matchmaking, anti-cheat, and moderation.
- Process purchases of virtual goods and credit them to your account.
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, exploits, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
- Improve gameplay, balance, and the overall service through aggregated analytics.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only to the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:
- Payment processors — Stripe, Inc. and Mercado Pago, to process transactions. They receive payment data directly from you (card or PIX) under their own privacy policies.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — operators of the servers, databases, and CDNs that host the website and game.
- Analytics and advertising — Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Ads) for traffic measurement and conversion tracking. Disclosure occurs through tags loaded in your browser.
- Communication services — Discord webhooks, used to forward limited operational notifications to our staff channels.
- Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ReClassic, our players, or the public.
5. Method of Disclosure
Disclosure to third parties occurs through the following technical methods:
- Encrypted API calls (HTTPS / TLS) from our servers to payment processors and external services.
- Browser-side tags (JavaScript and image pixels) loaded directly in your browser by analytics and advertising providers.
- Outbound webhooks over HTTPS to internal Discord channels for staff notifications.
- Manual disclosure in formal response to lawful requests from competent authorities.
We do not transmit personal information to third parties through any other channel without your consent or a legal basis.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies to keep your session active after you log in, remember basic preferences, and measure traffic via Google Tag Manager and Google Ads. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging into your account on the website.
7. Security Practices
We take the following measures to safeguard your information:
- Encryption in transit: all communication with the website uses HTTPS / TLS.
- Password hashing: account passwords are stored as hashes, never in plain text.
- No card storage: sensitive payment data (card numbers, CVV) is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant processors (Stripe and Mercado Pago) and never reaches our servers.
- Access control: administrative access to the database and game server is restricted to authorized staff using individual credentials, SSH keys, and audit logging.
- Hardened infrastructure: the production server uses a firewall, automatic security updates, and a dedicated non-root service account for the game emulator.
- Backups: regular automated backups of accounts and game data, with restricted access.
- Monitoring: server and application logs are monitored to detect suspicious activity.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to choose strong, unique passwords.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law (including the Brazilian LGPD), you may request to: access, correct, or delete your personal data; obtain a copy of it; restrict or object to certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 11.
Please note that some data is required to operate your account; deletion of essential data may result in closure of the account.
9. Data Retention
We retain account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. Inactive accounts may be retained for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance purposes. Transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and consumer-protection laws.
10. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the website.
